About Us: We're a modern library providing exceptional services to our community. We're looking for a passionate IT Support Specialist to join our team and play a key role in keeping our technology running smoothly.
What You'll Do:
- Provide first-line technical support to library staff and patrons, assisting with hardware, software, network, and AV equipment issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve a wide range of technical problems using your strong analytical skills.
- Install, configure, and maintain library technology infrastructure including computers, peripherals, and network devices.
- Proactively monitor and maintain library systems for optimal performance.
- Assist with software upgrades and ensure minimal disruption to operations.
- Provide user training on library technology tools and resources.
- Collaborate with vendors and contractors on maintenance, IT projects and purchases.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of IT policies and procedures.
Requirements
You're a Perfect Fit If:
- You have an Associate's degree in IT or a related field, or 2 years of relevant experience.
- You possess strong technical skills in hardware, software, networking, and troubleshooting.
- You have experience with Windows and Mac operating systems.
- You are an excellent communicator who can explain complex technical issues in a clear and concise way.
- You are a team player with a positive and service-oriented attitude.
- You are proficient in problem-solving and possess a strong analytical mind.
- You are self-motivated and can work independently while also collaborating effectively with others.
This full-time non-exempt position works 37.50 hours a week with a starting hourly range of $24.67-$26.17 (DOQ). Hours are Monday from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m., Tuesday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and one Saturday shift per month. Saturday hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Benefits include paid time off, medical, dental and vision insurance and required participation in IMRF (Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund) pension plan.
